The Lenovo Thinkpad W500 is designed (and priced) for high-end power users.

 

This notepad is a serious piece of kit and is quite rightly described as a "high performance laptop".

 

Aside from the great screen it has a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and can take a maximum of 8GB of RAM. From those specs alone you can tell this is going to be able to do some very complex operations.

 

The W500 is mainly aimed at those who need some real power when it comes to a business machine. The 15.4" screen also means that it can present a lot of information to the user on screen.

 

W500s are only young yet they can be upgraded if you feel the need. Many come with 4GB of RAM, installed as two banks of one underneath the palm rest (much like the T61 and T400).

 

The amount of RAM can be upgraded to 8GB and if you wish to do this you will need to buy DDR3 PC3-8500 or DDR3 PC3-10600 sticks.

 

If you wish to upgrade the size of the hard disk drive then your W500 will take a 2.5" SATA HDD.

 

Aside from the high quality specs, this machine is also 3G-capable, you just need to add a 3G-ready SIM.
